Besides the exhibition, the Tape Art Convention (www.tapeartconvention.com) focuses on the interaction of artists and visitors. You are interested in Tape Art and want to create your own tape artwork? To get you started we have organised tape art workshops with each of them being instructed by different artists of the tape art convention. In each of these workshops we will teach you the most important techniques and offer a wide range of working materials. These workshops are made for people who already have an artistic background or education as well as for total newbies, who want to spend a creative day in Berlin and get inspired. Maybe you want to create an artwork as a present or create a sign for you shop, café or bar? Whatever you want to create we will support you with our experience and help you make it a good and durable piece.
This tape art workshop, which takes place on 9th of October 2016, will be instructed by Jay Walker. Jay Walker is a Philadelphia based multi-disciplinary artist, creating tape installations with mixed media like painting and drawings, as well as carved sculptures. He has a BFA from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and a MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Walker regularly exhibits in both group exhibits and solo exhibits. He has been exhibiting solo at the Abingtion Art Center (Abington, PA), James Oliver Gallery (Philadelphia), Gordon College (Wenham, MA) and the Crane Hall (Philadelphia). He has also been in group exhibits at Pentimenti Gallery (Philadelphia), DCCA (Wilmington, DE), Space 38|39 (New York, NY) and Baden-Wuerttemberg Arts & Cultural Center (Heidelberg, Germany).
