Creative Producer Management Assistant : Pro Rata / Internship.
Established artists and creative producer seeking an enthusiastic intelligent individual to work on a commission basis for management, admin and creative assistance. This position will offer payment by commission as well as a great deal of experience and contact to an exiting and creative industry in experimental music and art production.
Here is what we are about.
The agency is set-up to manage the touring and performance schedules of 4 internationally renowned projects with busy schedules in 2015 in France, Italy, Germany, UK, UAE, Japan, Australia, New Zealand.
We produce music and multimedia art exhibitions. Our artists are often commissioned for creative collaborations across different media from film, contemporary dance, installation art, radio works, television, festivals and biennale etc. These are small scale, critically acclaimed projects by 4 mid-career artists.
We produce music events in small theaters, clubs and festivals and independently arrange tours though we do work with some agencies, record labels and aggregators.
Two artist from New Zealand based in Berlin and London, one from the USA based in Berlin and one based in Sydney. Further biographical information about the projects can be provided on application and meeting.
As we will not be launching the agency website until later in the year, there is no web presence for the agency as yet. Hopefully, you the candidate will be integral in that process of launching and maintaining the site and identity of the project, which we are considering a management umbrella.
Should you be the right candidate, we will negotiate a commission-based payment on the productivity and income-streams on a pro rata basis. The more income that is generated through your assistance the more you will earn.
The person we are seeking is a strong minded and highly motivated person, preferably Berlin based with strong written and spoken English and EU Languages a huge plus.
Experience in project management in music and art festivals and understanding of process and procedure in arts management is desired, an interest in experimental music, free-jazz, expanded cinema and video art would be a plus.
You will be exceptionally skilled in online -management and aggregation (soundcloud, vimeo, bandcamp, blogs, social media etc. etc.) managing catalogues and online digital sales and distribution of merchandise such as LPs, CDs, Artworks and DVDs.
Skills and responsibility with accounting and finance would be very important.
As the director will be abroad often you will need to work remotely and independently and report with regular skype communication.
You will have an exceptional understanding of travel arrangement and production scheduling.
Audio and video production, sound engineering, mixing and editing skills would be a major plus. You must be available to meet with the director regularly and casually in Berlin, (who is affable and will always buy you lunch and drinks.)
You will be an excellent communicator and have a great manner with clients. You will be prepared to accept direction and to operate within a protocol of confidentiality on occasions. You will need to be prepared to take input and direction from artists who can quite often be demanding. You will take pride in being part of the creation process of some exceptional music and art projects, and you will be confident in managing this new project efficiently and proactively with the prospect to becoming a partner in an ongoing project.
You will have exceptional Mac skills and we can eventually provide you with a computer and workspace in Berlin. There may be opportunities to tour with productions.
The busiest production period will be the present to August 2015 and beyond.
The right candidate will gain experience and contacts and a lot of knowledge in this casual position and have a lot of fun on this journey and you will be rewarded accordingly .
The director and artistic partners are all highly experienced professionals who can all share and impart a great deal of knowledge to the Creative Producer/ Management Assistant.
We do not believe in unpaid internships but we cannot offer an hourly rate. The position could be an average of 10 to 15 hours per week and you will receive a percentage of the income of the projects.
