I love working with materials that people are not usually consider to be artistic and sometimes even trash. There's something so magical in using their strengths to create something beautiful. I created this sculpture out of pieces of old cardboard boxes, newspapers, paper mache and metal wire.

The sculpture present a guitar that creates music and becomes the music itself, reflected in the sound waves breaking through it. The guitar is partly covered with text, however, the waves which symbolize the sounds of music, are shaped with no text, as music is so much more meaningful than words. Music can make us feel deeply inspired and lift our spirits. It is the ultimate language that could unite people in a mutual understanding more than words could ever do. It reveals our common identity. Music is truly divine.

The Language of Music

As I ride with the wind, I feel disconnected from daily life. I'm completely present in the moment, nothing else gets in. I am focused only in what I see in front of me, not at all with any thoughts or worries. I listen to the wind and smell the trees, feel them smiling at me. It's almost spiritual as the bike and I become one.
This sculpture reflects the correspondence between a motorcycle and the idea of freedom. Though the sculpture is static, it describes energy in motion. A motorcycle, being a vehicle, is used to create movement, but here it becomes the movement itself. The movement begins with lines defining a motorcycle that get life of their own and almost seem in motion. This motorcycle looses its materiality and transforms into liberated wavy lines as to illustrate the idea of freedom, as it’s not even subject to its own form. This liberated movement is much like a free spirit rider, who's looking for meaning. Always keeping in mind, It's not about the destination, it's about the ride itself.
This motorcycle symbolizes a transformation from the physical realm to the spiritual one, as it doesn't only serve the rider to travel from one destination to another, but also to go beyond. Beyond yourself, beyond your thoughts, beyond mistakes, paths not chosen, your past and your future. There is only here and now. There's something extremely powerful in being present in the moment, which in our full of distractions' world, is not easily achieved. Getting there is the utmost freedom. Freedom just to be.
