The British School at Rome (BSR) and the Keats Shelley House (KSH) invite applications for the Michael Marks Poet in Residence, a one-month residency in Rome generously supported by the Michael Marks Foundation.
The residency offers an opportunity to develop your creative practice within the BSR’s artistic and intellectual community, while exploring new ways of bringing poetry to audiences at the Keats Shelley House. Working with the KSH Director, the resident will develop public-facing poetry activities inspired by the Museum, its collections and its audiences. These might include readings, spoken-word performances, creative workshops, community events or social media projects. The resident will also give a public reading of their own work.
The residency provides time and space to pursue your own writing alongside these activities. We welcome applications from emerging poets who are self-motivated, proactive and collaborative, and excited to engage with new audiences and contexts.
