50 Reasons Why: Your Take on the East End This art exhibition welcomes all mediums and provides artists the opportunity to showcase works that depict your feelings about the East End of Long Island. To celebrate East End Art's 50th year, the jurors Debbie Wells & Franklin Hill Perrell of Artful Circle will select fifty pieces that they feel best convey the artists' intentions and show originality of visions.

The fifty selected works for 50 Reasons Why: Your Take on the East End will be exhibited across two galleries on Main St., Riverhead, NY with an opening reception on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

About the Jurors: Imagine having a personal docent of the current art scene without leaving your home. Artful Circle brings unmatched knowledge and insight to artists and art lovers with their virtual gallery, exhibition, and museum tours and daily Fun Art Fact emails. No one knows art better than founders Debbie and Franklin.

A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Debbie Wells is an award-winning graphic designer, photographer, muralist and painter. She researches and personally designs Artful Circle's lectures, and lectures alongside Franklin. She also serves as co-curator for museum and gallery exhibitions with Franklin Hill Perrell. Wells is the Past President of the Art League of Long Island and an active Artist Member of the Salmagundi Club in NYC. She is also responsible for all Artful Circle’s marketing and communications.

As former Chief Curator at the Nassau County Museum of Art in Long Island, Franklin Hill Perrell has a finely tuned background in art history through the ages right through to contemporary art. His longtime connections with gallerists and artists enable us to bring our members behind the scenes on our visits. His passion for art is always evident through his lectures with his uniquely charming, yet approachable manner. Perrell is a graduate of Hofstra University and a talented painter and writer. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Heckscher Museum in Huntington and the Bermuda National Gallery.

This exhibition welcomes all mediums and sizes. In addition to fine art, sculpture, and photography, we encourage digital, literary, audible, musical, video, film, fashion, et al. Works must be the artist's original design and concept.

Artists can enter up to 3 submissions of work that meet the theme and have not been previously shown at EEA. Only digital submissions will be considered. Submissions that are missing information will be rejected. There is no refund for the rejection of a submission for any reason.

This is a national open call for all ages and disciplines, however the subject matter must connect to the East End of Long Islan
