The Hôtel d’Artiste residency program is built around a fundamental principle: offering artists dedicated time for research, experimentation and dialogue in an environment conducive to reflection and creativity. Located in the heart of the Jura Mountains in Franche-Comté, the residency invites artists to examine the relationships between people and their environment, our place in the living world, and the ecological, social and cultural changes reshaping how we inhabit the world.
For two weeks, six residents share living and studio spaces and take part in conversations while developing their own research. The residency includes a group exhibition and public engagement events, creating opportunities to share ideas and connect with the local community.
The Résidence d’Artiste program is open to artists of all ages and all nationalities working across a range of disciplines and mediums. Applicants should demonstrate an active and committed artistic practice, evidenced by exhibitions, publications, awards, residencies and other relevant experience.
Applications are accepted in French or English.
