open call: maake projects summer group show

We are excited to announce our OPEN CALL for our summer group exhibition at Maake Projects! The exhibition will be curated by Emily Carol Burns.

DEADLINE Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at 11:59pm EST

Artists making work in all media are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted via Submittable.

Exhibition Schedule

• Artists will be notified by June 22nd.

• The exhibition will be on view August 3–September 21.

• Work should arrive to the gallery by July 20th.

Eligibility & Terms:

• Artists may submit up to 6 works for consideration

• Artists working in all media are welcome to apply

• Artists must be 18 years old or older to apply

• Work must be shipped from the continental US (artists may be based anywhere in the world)

Submission Requirements

• Between 1 and 6 images of work

• Short artist statement

• CV

Additional Information

• There is no pre-determined theme—all work will be considered

• This is an in-person show, all work must be physically at the gallery for the duration of the show

• We plan to host an opening reception at the gallery on August 3rd

• Work may be shipped or dropped off in-person, artists are responsible for shipping work to the gallery

• Maake Projects will cover return shipping from the gallery

• Work may be framed or unframed
