Our BFA degree program concentrations include Graphic Design, Illustration, User Experience (UX), Motion Design, Media Arts, and Animation. Students are immersed in learning technical skills, creative problem solving, and development of original concepts. They experiment and learn to communicate ideas through professional level projects to succeed in today’s creative job market. All NCAD students embark on a professional externship in the field of their choice and produce a competitive portfolio.
At NCAD, all BFA students are required to pursue a double concentration, focusing on two related areas within Visual Communication. This approach is designed to ensure that our graduates are multi-skilled, adaptable, and prepared for the evolving demands of creative industries.
A double concentration gives you a comprehensive skill set and knowledge base, opening up a wider range of opportunities, whether that's launching your own studio, working in diverse creative roles, or collaborating across disciplines. Often, both areas of expertise complement each other in real-world projects, enhancing your ability to solve complex problems and bring unique perspectives to your work.
Please note: Each concentration is offered only if a minimum of 5 students enroll in that area.
