The John Villiers Outback Art Prize celebrates the people, places and stories of rural, regional and remote Australia. Hosted by the Outback Regional Gallery in Winton, the annual prize invites established and emerging artists from across the country to create contemporary art.
Supported by the John Villiers Trust , the prize continues the legacy of the late John ‘Jack’ Villiers by creating opportunities for artists in remote communities and encouraging young people to engage with the arts.
The 2027 John Villiers Outback Art Prize finalist exhibition will be held at the Waltzing Matilda Centre & Outback Regional Gallery, 50 Elderslie Street, Winton, Queensland, from 1 May to 20 June 2027.
