The City of Surrey is inviting expressions of interest for a new public artwork on the 152 Street Bridge crossing the Nicomekl River.
The selected artist will create a series of 12 powder-coated steel panels affixed to the bridge railing, which separates the roadway from a new multi-use path. The artwork will be visible to both drivers and pedestrians.
Artists are encouraged to explore themes inspired by the Nicomekl River—its ecological richness, cultural significance, and role as a vital connector of people, species, and communities. Once heavily wooded and teeming with wildlife, the river continues to serve as a dynamic, life-supporting waterway.
