REVIVE and Greenwich Cultural Services, in partnership with Roman Road, are pleased to announce a grant of around € 30,000 for visual artists and creatives, for a commissioned work to be installed by June 2024. This is a two-step application. Only the short listed artists will be able to apply for Step 2. For Step 1, applicants are required to submit their complete applications by 5pm (GMT), 1st July 2022. The finalists will be announced the week commencing 31st July 2022.
Revive is looking for a freestanding permanent and outdoor piece to occupy and compliment the old Marie Thumas factory. The art piece will be positioned on the front terrace, having a lot of visibility to users, visitors and passers-by, while also becoming part of the identity the project. Therefore, it would be crucial to envision an artwork with a strong presence. While the main goal is to add an artistic element with values that relate to both the project and Revive as a company, the position is open to freedom. With a sustainable message at its core, the artwork may relate to Marie Thumas or utilize materials that belong to the current building, yet, this is down to the decision of the artist and their work. The artist will be able to contribute to a new and unique hub in the centre of Leuven.
