The Myth Of A Border

A myth is something, that claims its’ own truth. It is unprovable but seen as undeniable. The Mediterranean Sea has turned into a Myth. The myth of a border, which itself is based on the belief in nationality. Both borders and nations are made up concepts, as religions or ancient myths. Stories told by people, not given realties. Like the myth of the European self-depiction. The civilized liberator. The warrior of human rights.  Every myth has its’ own magical attraction. A shining light, which one wants to touch, but can never fully understand. Maybe because in myths, simple facts are packed in glorious stories. A myth needs to stay far away, so one can be attracted to it. It needs to have space for imagination, so no one can see its’ flaws.

The Myth Of A Border 

Words are a way to reflect our reality. But like reflections they are the depiction of something. Words can be used, words can be twisted. Words can harm and still sound like a bless. But words are always a representation of power. 

In this shortfilm the artist is reflecting on the dialectics of political speech in media and how it can shape the common sense of a societys' body.
