The ability to notice the fauna and flora around you is something that is being lost in an urban society despite the existence of much natural diversity in our cities. By exploring our local area we are attempting to uncover the natural landscape that often remains hidden within the urban sprawl of the city. We are mapping our experiences through sculpture to expand our perspective and understanding of the natural world and how nature and wildlife interact with the cityscape.
 
Can you see all that there is to see? Is a question we asked ourselves when living in Tokyo. Living in a metropolis as vast as Tokyo feeling connected to a sense of nature can often be difficult however there is much wildlife still clinging on or adapting to our concrete creations. If you take the time to look whole new perspectives and ways of seeing the city begin to form.

This work is an attempt to map our experiences and encounters, particularly with birds through our local area. A map constructed through mental traces and fragmented moments stitching together the hidden networks of wildlife.

Through exploring the natural world we seek to discover the hidden correspondence within the layers of existence. We aim to better our understanding relationship to the natural world by encountering the similarities between our lives and the species we share our environments with. We use aspects of wildlife and nature to re-evaluate our perspectives of society and communication by contemplating the networks of correspondence within the natural world and how human society can re-enter this correspondence.
