Maja Šarenac

Maja Sarenac (b. 1996, Valjevo, RS) is a Bosnia-Herzegovina artist currently based in Dubai, UAE. She graduated with a degree in Printmaking from the Academy of Fine Arts in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she was honored as student of the generation in 2020.

Her work delves into identity issues, including identity crises, anxiety, and human values, using elements of Japanese culture. This approach offers a fresh perspective on existential questions and the role of art in personal and cultural understanding. By blending traditional motifs with contemporary practices, Sarenac provides insights into self-discovery and authenticity. Her innovative approach emphasizes the importance of honesty and personal growth, demonstrating how art can deepen the understanding of human experience and foster meaningful self-reflection.
