The Hayama Artist Residency offers visual artists worldwide a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese culture and showcase their work in their first gallery exhibition in Japan, fostering cultural exchange and artistic growth.

  
The Hayama Artist Residency aims to introduce visual artists from around the world to Japanese culture and offer them an opportunity to have their first gallery exhibition in Japan. The residency will take place from June 1 to 30, 2026, and is a 4-week program in a small, coastal Japanese town in Kanagawa Prefecture, on central Honshū, Japan.

Selected artists will receive a roundtrip flight to Narita International Airport or Tokyo International Airport, and shared accommodations for 4 weeks. Each artist-in-residence will also receive a weekly allotment of $200 USD for meals and local transportation.
