Menina Cosmo is a hand-poured resin sculpture that captures light and shines as if it were glass blown. The pink hues vary throughout the piece resembling the delicious colors of a cosmopolitan cocktail. As the piece gets lit the Menina appears to glow with a transparency that shows its glimmering effect.

Menina el Bucaro is a mysterious painting that reveals the various elements as if hidden behind a translucent door. Various details and motifs are seen as you approach the piece intriguing the viewer wanting to know more. The Menina holds a potion glass bottle adding to the mystery of the piece. Her naked body is thinly veiled with a natural handmade paper fiber which alludes to an elegant piece of lingerie.

This captivating artwork effortlessly captures attention, employing a dynamic interplay of light and color, inviting viewers into an immersive experience.

The transformation of construction walls as objects d'art whereby the basic building elements undergo a process of rebelling against the norm of the expected. Rather than seeing the wall as a flat two-dimensional piece where to hang the art, I chose to reconstruct it as a pillar or column, an obelisk of support becomes the art form itself. The totem idea is an ancient concept used by many cultures across the Globe. From religious adorations to meditation garden sculptures, it serves as a pillar to exalting beauty and as a self-awareness tool. My idea was conceived of stacking simplified geometric figures representing the minimalist and industrial feel of the iconic Menina. Adding a hammered application, holes, and other imperfections as distressed finishes along with the metal cage mesh as an enclosure of the negative space creates an industrial approach to a luxurious princess theme from the Renaissance era. Further, the vision of portraying the piece in only white with wood is reminiscent of sculptures and other works by Louise Nevelson.

Diversity captures the essence of the melting pot mentality. Hand embroidered across the painted canvas appears as a constant reminder of the word DIVERSITY. Each portrait depicts a close-up view of the beauty in each of us, seeing deep into the soul of each of the characters allows the viewer to connect in an intimate way with the piece.

The floating painting, a gong of sorts, came from the idea of my Artifexto: Unveiling, a theme of discovery, a search for the unseen or secrets found in the original painting of Las Meninas. There are many components to the geometrical hidden object within the boxes. The idea of keeping colors as a point of movement, which the viewer gets to follow and explore and which if looked from afar tends to pixelate, and when approached the figure becomes clearer. The canvas floats like a baby in the womb tethered to the mom by its braided umbilical cord. Further, the neon acrylic enclosure and the braided cord, woven to float within the raw stretcher follow a theme of out-of-the-box.

Tropical Carnaval is a celebration of the diversity of rich cultural heritage. The bright colors of the Caribbean shine through to add a lively personality to each of these powerful women.
