The audiovisual work from Voin Oruwu and Valeriy Korshunov for Sounds of Chernobyl project with unique blend of real life music performance with insane 3d effects from the Exclusion Zone. 

 The Sounds of Chornobyl project has released the first video of the second season of its Sounds of Chornobyl project. Radiation. This is an hour-long video tour of the Exclusion Zone with a live performance by musician Voin Oruwu, accompanied by a visual story with 3D graphics by Valeriy Korshunov, an interview with the musician and a presentation of the musical composition of the project by Voin Oruwu. 

 "Sounds of Chernobyl" is a cultural and social music project in which famous Ukrainian and international musicians write musical compositions using the sounds of nature and the environment, which were recorded in Chernobyl by the author of the project - Valery Korshunov in 2018, and perform them in format of live performance in the Exclusion Zone. 

 This year, Voin Oruwu, Woo York, Na Nich, Zavoloka, Feldelmelder and Kaiser took part in the project. The recording of each artist's performance creates a unique video work with elements of 3D graphics, which immerses the viewer in the incredible atmosphere of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone and helps to feel the connection with it. 

 For example In the hour-long video, Voin Oruwu plays live among the abandoned houses of Chornobyl. Then in the amusement park of the ghost town of Pripyat, after which, from 34 minutes, his performance moves into the virtual world of ghostly Chornobyl, recreated by the author of the project Valery Korshunov, a Ukrainian artist and cultural figure who has been working on Chernobyl for several years through modern art forms. 

 "The visual story I tell during Dmytro's speech is the viewer's acquaintance with the topic of Chornobyl and its consequences. From the abandoned human homes in Chornobyl - to one of the famous symbols of the catastrophe - the Ferris wheel of Pripyat. The video goes from a melancholy contemplation of nature to the transition to virtual Chornobyl, where the Ferris Wheel becomes a symbol of a clock that moves and changes time. 

 We do not know whether it is a leap into the past, where this place was just opened, and everything is new, or a jump into the future, where nuclear power plants are being built again on this earth, and we see Chornobyl again. Perhaps this is not a clock but a symbolic space millstone that distorts human destinies. In any case, this location becomes a kind of "anomaly", as in Tarkovsky's Stalker and Strugatsky's Picnic on the Roadside. 

I hope this video tour will help viewers think about the fate of people who lived in Pripyat, Chornobyl and neighbouring villages. About the future of those personally affected by this "anomaly"." - says the author of the project Valeriy Korshunov. 

 Voin Oruwu - Kyiv musician, DJ and producer Dmitriy Avksentiev (also known as Koloah), performs at the most significant music events in Ukraine (Brave! Factory / Strichka / Boiler Room x SCHEME) and abroad (CXEMA in Tresor, Berlin). Under the name Voin Oruwu, Dmitry creates multimedia releases with a visual component, in which he explores technology, the future, science and art. 

 "In principle, such music is lonely for me, in the sense that it is about the search for oneself, about loneliness, about some deep study of oneself, one's essence. It seemed to me that this fits very organically into the history of Chornobyl and this tragedy. So I think it sounds somewhere on the same wave. Techno is often associated with Detroit, which is now also a ghost town. The same can be said about Pripyat, about Chornobyl. These are also ghost towns. That's why techno is very suitable for this," Dmytro, Voin Oruwu, comments on his music.

 Super high-speed ZBROY drones, shooting on six cameras, unique graphics and editing - make this hour-long video exciting and allow you to look at the Exclusion Zone from an entirely new angle. At the end of the audiovisual performance, it is interesting to listen to the story and reflections of the artists on the theme of Chornobyl and a new composition, Voin Oruwu - Voice of ghost town created especially for the Sounds of Chornobyl project. 

 The Sounds of Chornobyl. Radiation is a call to remember, respect, feel, explore one's history, land and connection with it through music and contemporary art.

 The project is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, the Center for Organizational, Technical and Information Support of the Exclusion Zone Management. 

In 2020, the first season of the Sounds of Chornobyl project was launched. Famous bands GusGus, KAZKA, Vagonovozhatye, Atomic Simao, Telepopmusik, Bjarki, Dub FX, Serhiy Mikhalok, Oleksandr Chemerov, Stasik and KRUT were involved in the project, and they created new songs based on the Sounds of Chornobyl audio library.
