The Owner of Orange Beetle is  a multimedia performance  inside a Volkswagen Beetle. The public is invited to go with the character,  through the streets of Rio de Janeiro.

The Owner of Orange Beetle

The name of the play was due to my mom really being a “Chacrete” – dancer and assistant in a famous TV show from a well-known presenter in Brazil. And my father was a fotonovel gallant. I’d like with this piece to remove the glamour of that situation and laugh about the stories, simple stories, that were like everyone else’s – sometimes good, sometimes not.

Through a scenic confession that takes place on the stage, The Rockett's Daughter invites the audience to reflect on their own lives and relationships with the past and consequently with the present. I worked based in my own experiences and stories I’ve heard from my mother. Since I was born, the pain of birth, going through the discovers of childhood until the adult life, the pain and the happiness of being alive.

Take me is a live performance. On a table, a blindfolded Camila Rhodi cuts a Grapefruit with a big and sharp knife. At the same time the audience listens to a list of her biggest fears. After cutting the Grapefruit into pieces the artist stands up and, still blindfolded, offers the fruit to the audience, touching them with her dirty handsand whispering close to their ears “Take me. I’m yours.”

Over 18 only is a multimedia performance based on the artist’s first childhood sexual experience, but also the affairs and almost-affairs in Berlin. The project will be presented in simultaneous performance, installation, and video. Over 18 Only is an autobiographical portrait that explores the artist’s relationship personal histories, cultural forces, media, and solitariness. The performance is composed of writing produced consciously and unconsciously, performative portraits, interrupted silences, and painful romantics of images of the body.
