Simulation Project _ Test I is a redefination of the natural.
Following the methodology of a researcher / naturalist I collect materials and build these closed systems simulating  a kind of garden whose shape changes day by day as new life forms are created by the death of the previous ones. A simulation of a natural ecosystem. The instruments and containers that a science lab would use are being replaced by everyday utensils, clamps, nails and screws that violently isolate plants from their natural environment. They symbolically refer to the way man "constructs" the natural and consequences that follow :deconstruction, isolation, decontextualization, death and reconstruction through technical and technological means.

Simulation _ Test I

In August 2021 during a heatwave with the highest temperatures reaching 47 °C there were multiple wildfires burning all around Greece. Οne of the most destructive was on the northern part of the island of Evia. 

The work is a collection of carbonized flora samples of what's left of the North Evian forests, found washed up on South Pelion shores right across the wildfires.

A sad reminder that "Even in the obscure vast history of a planet the time it takes to make a forest counts. It takes a while" (Urs. Le Guin).

Heal not repair

Out Of Order is a project commenting on A Society On Pause and was created during the 2020 lockdown.

While spending the lockdown working in beekeeping in one of the most sparsely populated areas in Arcadia, Greece, the project arose from thoughts on the perallelism of the human society with that of the bees.

A large number population composes a densely populated unit that produces and consumes incessantly and predetermined, until someone / something comes to upset the balance and interrupt its operation.

Note on construction: The final surface was shaped by the bees inside the hive.
