
The red carnation has been introduced into collective memory as a symbol, in an intimate act of remembrance of the loss and honor of the present. The story is not a text made of words, it is a network of meats. Those who lived history relive it in everyday life, it is reflected in their lives, customs, relationships and structures. History is the past, memory is the present.

The piece history and flesh is a reflection on the processes of mourning and homage in everyday life, of a past full of losses: of childhood, of peace, of a friend; in oppressive political episodes.

Mexico has become one of the territories with the highest migration flow in the world. More than a destination, it is a space of constant transition, an endless flow that does not end healing.
The piece the right to walk is a statistical and affective mapping of the migratory flow on foot from San Pedro Sula (Honduras) to the US-Mexico border. From interviews, readings and documentaries, the artist compiled concepts that are part of the affective process of migration: rootlessness, faith, self-care protocols, disappearance. At the same time, the different migrant routes that are most recorded can be distinguished in embroidery.

Each stitch represents 10 migrants who crossed Mexico in 2018.
