Sky above Cetinjska street

During December 2020, I had opportunity to paint an indoor mural as part of artist in residency (KKAIR) program @kulttuurikauppila in Ii, Finland 

Indoor mural is painted in Iisi Areena, in room where kids and youngsters are spending their free time.
Main idea was to make an interesting image which will bring fresh and cool look into space for kids.
Starting point for composition was to integrate windows in to final image.
Shapes and colors are adjusted for the users of the space, as well inspired with Finnish nature and the style of the building. I was reading that the round shapes are more natural for eye to follow and I found them more suitable for space and size of the wall.

Vortex
The process

This project emerged from the desire to create a interdisciplinary approach between the different art forms that we practice: visual art, dance and music.
We have been inspired by each other’s perspectives and tastes along the creative process. From the very raw drafts of the sculpture, to the first choreography moves, passing through different exploratory soundscapes that would fit into the collective envisioned aesthetic. 

Several brainstorming sessions were held until we choose a few key-words that abstractly guided the whole inventive course - vortex, ice, water, abyss, meditation, emptiness, arctic blue, peace, change, oniric -  and worked as a  sewing thread to the final piece.

The concept

“The only way to make sense out of change, is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." Allan Watts

The therm "vortex" illustrates perfectly the eliptic motion of the hoop. Though, its also an ambiguous word, open to diverse symbolic interpretations. 
In our artwork, vortex refers both to a concrete physical phenomena yet to other possible conceptual meanings implied such as time and change. 
The experience of time is analogous to a vortex where and when we are all trapped inside.
Time always moves forward and brings with it constant and inevitable change. 
Sometimes it moves in a low pace, a largo movement, a slow motion sketch where you might feel as an spectator observing your own steps. 
On the other hand, it might feel constrict, tense, rushing towards a structural abyss, making you loose control over it. 
Time is order, change is chaos thus they belong together in a complex universal harmony. 
As long as we are able to navigate throughout time in a meditative state, the sudden and unexpected changes become only  graceful movements to contemplate.
Our desire is to resonate with the visitor, creating an immersive embodied experience, a passage to a dimension absent of analytical mind traps.

Vortex

In 2018/2019 I obtained one year of traditional handy craft studies on Institute Seni Indonesia Denpasar, Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. 
During my stay, I had opportunity to  explore amazing nature of island. Many of the photos I took were starting point for my inspiration for the works and one of those was Balinese black sand.
This artwork was exhibited on my solo show in March 2021, ULUS gallery, Belgrade, Serbia.
Concept of the complete exhibition is based on the dimensions and spatial layouts of ambiental space of ULUS gallery, and as such it cant be applied eny where else without variation.
Being experienced with materials is providing an opportunity to experiments and to complete with forms in new ways.
I am most motivated by solving self given artistic tasks, inspired by my imagination and personal perception of the surrounding. Process of the work, whose essence is transition of a medium into medium and again medium into medium, from the starting motive which is always a concrete scene or a term, it results in it ultimate form- the works, which become largely abstract. Seen or experienced scene (Arctic circle, Greenlands icebergs, Finnish skies, Balinese black sand) are creating the feeling of infinity and pure freedom.
Title ‘’ In all directions’’ has defined process of all the artworks- decomposition of a scene on geometrical forms and rebuilding in abstract composition. The goal is to the audience wander off ‘’ in all directions’’ with the persona experience of artwork in front of whom it is located. Whit this its provided an opportunity to create a unique story and experience it personally.

"Minulim nocima/Past nights"

Main inspiration for this work I found in photo of floating ice on Greenlan.
Work represent simbiosis of two medias in which I am expressing myself the most- murals and wall sculptures. . Combination of the wall painting and wall sculpture was giving a new dimension to the artwork and gallery space.
