Vacant, not empty (2012), explores architecture as a mediated, inaccessible and therefore uncertain experience. By positioning a photograph, of the inside of the entirely sealed construction, at the back of a recess - where one would expect to see the interior of the environment itself - the piece explores the distancing mechanisms available through the use of the physical photograph.
