Scholarships for visual artists have a long tradition. Renowned artists have already received them to promote their personal and artistic development, regardless of their financial or social circumstances. The Uwe Lüders Art Scholarship also addresses this issue.

The Uwe Lüders Trust Foundation is offering a three-month work and studio scholarship for visual artists. The goal of the scholarship is to relieve artists of financial pressure during the scholarship period and thus create optimal working conditions, opening up new perspectives for their future artistic careers.

The scholarship holders receive a monthly grant of €1,500 for a period of three months. The scholarship also provides free accommodation in a studio apartment in the historic Roter Hahn building in downtown Lüneburg. Participation in the scholarship requires a minimum of six weeks of attendance. In addition, the scholarship holders receive a one-time, upfront material grant of €1,000.

At the end of the scholarship, there is the opportunity to realize an exhibition in Lüneburg in collaboration with the Sparkassenstiftung Lüneburg, provided the artistic works are selected jointly with the foundation and a museum-quality standard is defined. There is also the option of creating an exhibition catalog, which can be financially supported by the Uwe Lüders Art Scholarship.
