Works from the exhibition Crow´s nest that took place on top of a shopping mall in Bijlmer, Netherlands, called Kraaiennest.

Collaboration with Judith Kleinemeier.

The viewer has to push a button to activate a sound of a metro coming and going.  The speakers were situated on the other side of a wall that led to a parking garage so the sound would echo around the space.

A metro station was situated next to the exhibition space so the viewer could not immediately know what he had triggered by pushing the button.

Three rooms divided by windows.

Three photographs of different people standing on a dock surrounded by the ocean are situated on a wall in every room.

The windows between the rooms have been covered with light plastic that moves away from the viewer when going between the rooms.

Matter


I went to an old swimming pool in Iceland that was built in the 30´s.  There I filmed three girls walking around in a synchronized style exploring the space.

I edited the video into three different ones: the locker rooms, the shower and the swimming pool.

Then I made an installation where you had to go within the space to explore the space in the videos.

 Installation situated in Zinkovy castle, Czech republic.

 6 drawings from the serie Possible space construction.

The drawings are two dimensional drawings/collages that are exploring possibly impossible spaces.
They are of spaces that suggest that they are leading to somewhere when in actuality they are not.
A play with wrong perspective and thus perception plays a big role in the drawings along with the struggle between nature and humans even though absent, is reflected in the human made architectural construction.

I situated the drawings in a room within an old castle in Czech republic aligning the actual window of the castle so it seemed as the drawings were also windows with a view in different worlds. 

The floor of the room was damaged so it was filled with plywood that had the shape of the floors in the drawings.  And in the entrance I put sticker tape that had the image of bricks next to real bricks that were showing in the walls enhancing the difference between what is real and what is fake.

Merging items, people, patterns

Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Fred. Roeskestraat, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 

Installation with 3 chairs, 3 one way mirrors, black and white tile floor material. 
The installation is a kind of a stage researching reflection, shadow images and 
learned perception. 
The floor creates the setting.  On the floor the mirrors are standing in a zik zak 
position and the chairs are situated around the mirrors in a controlled way; every 
chair is mirrored exactly by the reflection of the chair opposite from it. 
While walking around it the viewer comes to realize that everything is as it seems 
but while realizing the understanding of his misunderstanding, tries to find flaws 
in the plan and questions what he is actually seeing. 
The chairs suggest that you are allowed to sit on them and then be a part of the 
installation.  When only one person sits in it, it looks like he is a ghost as he can 
only see the silhouette of himself sitting on the opposite chairs.  When two per- 
sons sit opposite each other it looks as if their two bodies merge into one, creat- 
ing the very intimate experience of seeing yourself merge into another person. 
The room that the installation was situated in was surrounded by windows and 
the lights from the surrounding rooms also reflected each other perfectly creating 
the same effect that the chairs had.

In the space I made numerous drawings/paintings with all sorts of people and situations.  When you walked in you got a panorama view. 
An audio piece was playing with conversations and 
ambient sounds that you could connect with the images in not so obvious way.

Installation that consisted of a plastic tape covering the walls, ceiling and the floor of the gallery.  
Only triangular shapes were used in order to create a three dimensional effect.
