The Eureka Springs School of the Arts is looking for practicing ceramics artists who are seeking focused time to refine their skills, create work and/or explore new avenues within their medium.

This is an opportunity to be inspired by the incredible natural beauty and unique culture of the Ozark Mountains. ESSA is within 5 miles of the renowned artist community of Eureka Springs. The ESSA campus offers world class facilities and comfortable private lodging for our residents, tucked away from the distractions of the outside world.

  
The 2025 Fall Ceramics Residency will span approximately 6 weeks beginning on September 19, 2025 through November 1st, 2025, with a closing reception on Saturday, November 1st, 2025.

  
The artist(s) selected for this residency will be expected to:

* Be a part of the ESSA campus during their stay by engaging with staff, instructors, students, and other visitors to campus.
* Attend a mandatory studio orientation on September 19th in the afternoon with ESSA staff.
* Donate one piece of work (or more if desired) for ESSA to use for fundraising purposes.
* Commit to a ½ day session with students from a local school or schools to share and/or demonstrate their craft/techniques and engage with the students (October 8th and 9th, 2025).
* Participate in our upcoming Studio Stroll on September 27th, 2025 to demonstrate and talk about your craft.
* During the closing reception, provide a 15-minute artist talk with images or examples of work to discuss their process and approach, influences, takeaways from the residency, reasons for applying for the residency, etc., with a Q&A session to follow.

Resident(s) will receive a $500 honorarium and on-campus lodging. Resident(s) will have 24-hour access to the ESSA ceramics studio and kiln house and access to all tools and equipment in the ceramics studio.
