The Canopy Program is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 cohort cycle - led by faculty mentors Amir H. Fallah, Sharon Butler, Catherine Haggarty, Meg Lipke, Clare Grill, and Jessica Dickinson.

The Canopy Program spans ten months and currently has over 120 artists enrolled - showcasing a global community of artists in dialogue. The program is application-based and was founded in 2022 by artist Catherine Haggarty - its aim is to create a serious and consistent environment for learning, collaboration and access to critics and gallerists that artists may not otherwise have. The Canopy Program offers virtual and in person cohorts - allowing artists from around the world to participate, all in person cohorts are held at the Chelsea Studio in New York. Accepted and enrolled artists are offered three curated semesters led by their mentors and each canopy cohort culminates in a pop-up group exhibition at our location in Chelsea, NYC.

In addition, Canopy artists have access to 11 asynchronous faculty through lectures, workshops, and salons - all meant to provide additional perspectives to the cohort experience.

The Canopy Program 2025-2026

The Canopy Program is a year-long mentorship intensive program, providing artists access to work exclusively with a Faculty Mentor and a Cohort of 10 artists for 3 consecutive semesters \[Fall 2025, Winter 2026 & Spring 2026\]. Each Canopy Cohort culminates in a group show in Chelsea, NY hosted by The Canopy Program!

Virtual Cohorts - hosted via Zoom for artists based across the world

In-person Cohorts - hosted at The Canopy Studio in Chelsea (NYC) for artists living in the New York City area.

**The James Bernard Haggarty Scholarship**

* Awardees receive $3000 off of the Canopy Program tuition.
* One artist per cohort will receive this scholarship.

  
**Mentorship:**

Artists will meet regularly throughout the program’s year for critiques, discussion and resource building in professional practices and art history lectures. Each Cohort will receive the opportunity to engage in special workshops, lectures and critique with Guest Speakers, Visiting Artists + Critics.

Each Cohort will culminate in a pop-up group show with an opening reception at The Canopy Studio in Chelsea (NYC) at the end of the program! There are also additional opportunities for artist's to also have additional small group mentorship with visiting critics, Sarah Faux, Sarah Peters, Victoria Roth, Loren Erdrich and more.
