Island blues is a series of landscape paintings of a dream space; the Utopian island. In between night and dawn, under the dim light, the night Mojavi on my laptop shines with the blue hue of the virtual screen. The deserted landscape suddenly looked so very fantasmic beyond this banal reality. The Utopia where nothing fades and no anxiety drowns us. We once talked about the island that we all dance around naked ‘perfectly un-sad’. And one day the image of the island overlapped with the Mojavi on the screen.

Melodramatic reflection drives from the Melodramatic reflection drives from the collection of found-text and personal writings. It is an attempt to ‘concretise’ the fleeting moments writing down as if holding the otherwise short-living and vague emotions. The words have been stored in Instagram account @txt\_matter solely dedicated to this recording purpose. All writings are made in Word processing program ‘Page’ to restrain the writings from turning overly typographical but still have the possibility of experiments in restricted environment. The selected texts are engraved into mirrors resembling the narcissistic indulgence of writing process.

The very first sea with glitching blue light and unheard sound of the sun.

The virtual space and the real space is repetitively overlapped and overturned. A temporary buildings of wall to the left has a screen-shaped hole that showing a codex-form objet behind. To the right, there is a twin of the wall painted with fading blue presenting an image of distorting fake-plastic-sea. And then there is another virtuality in the codex mirror reminding the fact that you are standing in the fake world looking at elaborated labyrinth of repeating cycle between the virtual and real.

The virtual space and the real space is repetitively overlapped and overturned. A temporary buildings of wall to the left has a screen-shaped hole that showing a codex-form objet behind. \_an existential book crisis

  
In the space, there are five gold framed codexes. When you look into their codices, you can only find out that they are void images of books inside the frames without any sign of text. The books presented in the photographs are facing their illusory doubles in the mirrors and the codex frames they are metaphysically sitting in are facing the same crisis. With the deployment of mirrors, the project depicts reiteration of repetitive switches between real/physical and fake/virtual. The Book project changes its title depending on the installation form. It has been shown with the title of The Book in a Frame on an Easel in 2015 in London as a form depicted in the title, and was presented in Seoul, under the title of The Book in the Book in the Space with the codex shaped frames.

When text loses its linearity, it attains the physicality furthers the potential of the spatiality and quality as an image. However, the ingrained fact that it is derived from the ‘readable material’ differentiates it from the ordinary images. The words extracted out to the physical world suggest the experience beyond that traditional text can provide. Love and affection comes with curiosity and endless questioning. It can be compared to an unrequited crush, thinking of him/her all day long. We are designer and artist who are very in love. We read and deal with text and image everyday in physical form and also in virtual form with glaring screens. This show is the space full of love, everlasting love towards the text with continuous investigation.
