In Transition MMXX series is like playing on the paper with straight and curving lines. Playing with space and the spaces between. Colors for me are very important, they express what I try to communicate. Thus creating the little story that draws from within itself. In this way expressing the emotion that I want to communicate, intimacy and privacy.
This, As a Metaphor For The Times We Live In.

Project 'Please Like Me' 2018 - 2019

As an artist,  being confronted with the phenomenon of an apparent tendency for getting approval on your work, your social media accounts, on whatever you do on the internet, in the form of likes. I read and see that this has an enormous impact on people: Being liked is the best.
Forgetting that it’s almost always by persons you don’t know, even never heard of.

Estranged – unsure – for sure it’s weird no?

Peoples lives depend on it, young people fall out because they are not enough liked!

It triggered my imagination to start a project on this subject: A series of large works on paper, trying to find the essence of what this phenomenon is about.

Artist statement 
As an artist I am triggered by the phenomenon ‘Power’
How does this phenomenon occur and what are its foreseen and unforeseen consequences?
Implicating social and economical changes, were mostly the people are target, in being manipulated and misguided by social media and the internet, were data are the important tool.

In my projects I respond to these consequences.

Project 'Please Like Me' 2018 - 2019

What intrigues me is the possible backgrounds of so many peoples seeking new homes and safe havens. Inhabitants in cities, wanderers between countries. Peoples coming from an every day life and lost in economic and troubled situations. What is their perception life, their hopes, their view on fellow men.

From this line of thinking I transformed an imaginary context, using the same surface and the same size in all 9 works, with mixed media on khadi paper.
Trying through my art to pay respects to all these fellow men.
