What does an artist need to produce strong staged photography? Expensive camera equipment? Special light sources? Assistants? Actors? Set designers? Make-up? No! Just a good eye, intuition and a personal understanding of one‘s subject is all you need.

Inside Hijacking Reality

Oliver Blohm, born in Schwerin in 1987, is an experimenter among the portrait photographers. Although he belongs to the digital generation, he works with analog photo processes, especially with the instant image, formerly also known as Polaroid. For his portraits, he uses various instant cameras and formats. Particularly fascinating are not only the aesthetics but also the details and the unique results of the large format camera technique. For the duration of the exhibition, the artist transforms the project space into a portrait studio. Visitors can arrange an appointment for an individual portrait on location. The particularity of the exhibition is the process character. Until the Finissage on June 4th 2017 the walls and vitrines will gradually be filled up with the photos of the shootings.
