The Oslo Negativ Foundation wants to inspire an increased national interest in photography by organizing an annual photography festival. Together with Preu's museum and Oslo's photography community, the foundation can proudly say that the festival's two years of existence can show the participation of hundreds of photographers, thousands of photographs and close to 20,000 enthusiastic audiences. The festival has previously been held at the old Deichman library in Hammersborg, which is now undergoing renovation.
If a photograph is worth a thousand words, imagine what a photo festival like Oslo Negativ can tell with several thousand pictures, says chairman of the foundation and curator of the Møller collection, Nina Sørlie.
This year's festival will now be held for the first time at the old Veterinary College at Adamstuen, which with its exciting history will color this year's festival. Centrally located on Adamstuen, both the building and the neighborhood itself are a sight to see. When typical white gallery walls are replaced with operating theatres, booths and stables, the incredible selection of images is staged in a unique way.
