From June 1st to December 31st, 2026, artists worldwide are invited to submit their portfolio of caricatures and satirical graphics for the SOKOL Prize for Digital Caricature, Critical Drawing, and Satire. Artists, students, and graduates of artistic or graphic design programs, as well as practicing artists from Germany and abroad, aged 18 and over, are eligible to participate. The choice of theme is left to the artists.
The SOKOL Prize, established in 2018, is dedicated to showcasing contemporary artistic positions at the intersection of drawing, satire, and socio-critical reflection. It also honors its namesake, Erich Sokol, an artist internationally renowned for his innovative and forward-thinking approach. The international award is presented every five years by the State of Lower Austria in cooperation with the Cartoonmuseum Krems. A new focus this year is on works that critically examine artificial intelligence.
