the unpublished photo contest
The UNPUBLISHED PHOTO contest is promoted by the Fondazione Culture e Musei of Lugano (hereinafter referred to as FCM) with MUSEC-Lugano; organised in collaboration with the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS Gallery in Milan and the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere e Arti in Venice and it is in partnership with the De Pietri Artphilein Foundation in Lugano and the Fondazione Ada Ceschin e Rosanna Pilone in Zurich.
Participation in the international competition is free of charge and open to young photographers born between 1993 and 2005.
Until 16 April applicants must submit a portfolio of ten unpublished images. The portfolio must have a thematic and stylistic unity.
A technical jury of international experts from the world of photography, communication and publishing will chose the four finalist portfolios. The winners will receive the following cash prizes:
1st prize: CHF 2.000 2nd prize: CHF 1.500 3rd and 4th prize: CHF 1.000.
The De Pietri Artphilein Foundation with Artphilein Editions of Lugano will award a special prize to one of the four winners, consisting in the publication of a prestigious monographic art book.
FCM will organise an exhibition with the four finalists at MUSEC in Lugano (Switzerland) from 15 December 2023 to 18 February 2024. The curators will select six images for each portfolio. For the realisation of the Fine Art prints, the finalists must be able to provide the appropriate digital files (TIFF file min. 300 dpi and Adobe rgb 1998 color profile).
The prints (60x90 cm c.) will be produced by FCM and will become part of the MUSEC photographic collections.
