female plural: dance and movement in the rural environment

Producciones Teatrales Viridiana SL, with the sponsorship of IBERESCENA and the support of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, opens a call for residency applications for choreographers and dancers from member countries of the IBERESCENA community and whose artistic work shows an Afro poetics, with the purpose of creating a choreography that arises from the process of research and coexistence with rural women in Santa Eulalia de Gállego, a small town in España Vaciada located in the province of Zaragoza, Autonomous Community of Aragón.

It is intended that each artist can experiment in the territory and create choreography through meeting and coexisting with the local female community. The resulting works, which will be recorded in audiovisual format, will serve as images for a videomapping creation that will be the objective of Producciones Teatrales Viridiana in the next call for Creation in Residence 2025. The joint result of the residencies held in 2024 and 2025, will give place to an artistic intervention that will be exhibited in a rural environment in the La Galliguera region, within the framework of the Jorearte Festival programming. The topics will fundamentally focus on aspects linked to the empowerment of women and highlight the similarities between stigmatized women, anywhere in the world, due to gender, race, or origin.
