1 Work 1 Week 1 Conversation
Deadline 18 July 2026
A new salon programme at Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop
In a culture of endless scrolling, constant consumption and crowded exhibitions, it can be difficult to truly spend time with a work of art.
One work is a simple proposition.
One artwork.
One wall.
One week.
One conversation.
Throughout the programme, a single artwork will occupy the main gallery wall. Each presentation begins with an intimate salon gathering, bringing together the artist, the work and an audience willing to look a little longer and listen a little deeper.
Rather than asking visitors to navigate dozens of works, one work invites sustained attention. It creates space for dialogue, curiosity and reflection. A chance to encounter a work on its own terms and to understand not only what we are seeing, but how and why it came into being.
Alongside the featured work, visitors will have access to a digital viewing room presenting additional works and materials from the artist’s practice.
Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop has always been committed to creating meaningful encounters between artists and audiences. One work continues that commitment through a slower, more focused approach to exhibiting and experiencing art.
At its heart, this programme is an invitation to spend time with a single work and discover how much can emerge when we truly pay attention.
Selected artists will:
Exhibit one physical work for the duration of one of the sessions
Additional works available digitally
Participation in opening conversation
The sessions are running from July – October 2026. Exact dates are to be confirmed.
The deadline for submissions is July 18th 2026.
