How many talented photographers, in France or elsewhere, lack the means to finish a project? How many, after spending several months documenting a subject, stop. Because their subject is more complex than they had thought, because it requires more time than they imagined. Photographers then go on to other things hoping to find a more lucrative story, requiring less of their own funding.
It is to support these difficult projects that the ImageSingulières festival, the news newspaper Mediapart and ETPA, a school of photography and game design based in Toulouse, have been committed, since 2018, around two awards. The "ISEM Grand Prix" is open to photographers from all over the world.
With 8,000 euros, he intends to contribute to the development and completion of ongoing documentary work. This prize must be used to continue the rewarded work. This work will be screened during the presentation of the "ISEM Grand Prix" on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at ImageSingulières in Sète, and published on the Mediapart website in the weeks following the presentation of the Grand Prix and the following year.
