Overview

The AI Art Magazine invites artists working with and through artificial intelligence to submit one work for its fourth print edition.

An independent, artist-led publication, the magazine documents artistic practices with AI, giving them sustained attention and a lasting place on paper. The open call welcomes artists worldwide, across disciplines and backgrounds, whether working within an established practice or exploring a first experiment.

There is no set theme and no submission fee. Collaborative works are welcome.

What you can submit

The four forms of work can overlap. Please choose the one that feels closest to your work.

Image
A still image, including photographic and digitally constructed works. If the work is part of a series, please submit one representative image and describe the series in the accompanying text.

Moving image
A time-based work, including video or animation, with or without sound. Please provide a film still and the complete video.

Spatial work
An installation, performance or work unfolding in space. Please provide photographs and, where relevant, video documentation.

System
A work in which the system, protocol or process is itself the artwork. Use the text fields to describe how it works, how AI is involved and what someone encounters when engaging with it. Include visual documentation where relevant.

Selection and publication

An international jury will select around 50 works for the fourth print edition, where they will appear alongside essays and conversations exploring artistic practices with AI.

The jury brings together Auronda Scalera and Dr. Alfredo Cramerotti, Boris Eldagsen, Christopher Udoh, Claire Silver, Emiko Ogawa, Erin Thompson, Grit Wolany, Liri Argov, Pep Salazar, Sara Giusto, and Xiaomi, the magazine’s experimental AI juror.

How to apply

Submit one work through the Artist Space, accompanied by a short account of your practice and how the work was made. You can save your progress and return to the form before submitting.

Deadline: 1 November 2026
Publication: Planned for 2027. A detailed schedule will follow.
