safe spaces for at-risk artists and cultural workers
The Martin Roth Initiative (MRI) supports at-risk artists and cultural workers by facilitating temporary protected stays in Germany or in their countries of origin.
We can support artists and cultural workers,
who advocate for an open society, freedom, peace and democracy, reject any kind of discrimination, and experience persecution or threats because of their commitment or for other reasons
who are still active in their countries of origin, have only recently left their country of origin, or are not safe in their current locations
who have no access to a safe country of residence
who possess language skills that enable cooperation with the host institution
who are demonstrably active in the arts/culture and whose work has proven to have artistic, cultural or social relevance
