This biennial award is open to artists working in three dimensions, offering a unique opportunity to establish a track record in the competitive field of public art.
Five artists will be shortlisted as finalists for the award and invited to develop a maquette to be presented on a plinth with a surface area of 60 × 60 cm, alongside a fully developed proposal in digital format.
This should include supporting documentation, such as costings, as well as drawings or rendered photographs illustrating the proposed work at full scale.
Each finalist will receive £1000 to support the development and production of these materials.
Once the proposals are complete, finalists will be interviewed by the judging panel on the afternoon of Saturday, 24 April 2027. The winning artist will be announced at an event that evening.
