Overview

📢 OPEN CALL | Rooted — A Common Ground with No Outside
Presented by MaTa Art Collective
Curated by Gabrial Jiao

We are pleased to announce the open call for Rooted — A Common Ground with No Outside, an exhibition exploring how "nature" is represented, maintained, and experienced within the contemporary city.

Rather than treating nature as a distant landscape, this exhibition considers it as something embedded in everyday urban life—shaped by maintenance, infrastructure, and human intervention. Inspired by Merleau-Ponty's understanding of the lived world, we invite artists working across all media to respond to the spatial rhythms and ecological conditions of The Art Pavilion, Mile End Park.
