Media artists from all over the world can start entering their works for the European Media Art Festival 2025. The online platform is now open.
We are looking forward to receiving works from the areas of Film, Installation and Expanded (live projects such as performances, interactive works, or workshops). The deadline for entries is 10 January 2025. Our curatorial team will develop the festival programme based on these entered works.
Entering works is free of charge. Artists’ fees will be paid for all entries selected for the festival.
Film entries must have been finished after 1 September 2023. Equally, concepts for installations and expanded projects must have been finalised after this date. Exceptions are possible.
For selection screenings all works in a language other than English have to be entered in their original version with English subtitles.
Submissions for the Installation and Expanded sections must include a detailed description, tech rider, photos and, if available, a video documentation.
There is no limitation as to the running time of individual works.
All short and medium-length films (up to 60 mins running time) are equal winners of the EMAF Award* and will each receive €400 in prize money. A jury of the VdFk will award the EMAF Media Art Award of the German Film Critics’ Association to one of the films from the International Selection. The prize is non- monetary.
For films selected for the Features section and curated film programmes, rental or artists' fees ranging from €80 to €200 will be paid, depending on the film length. The fee for exhibition contributions is 300€.
