Kannski is an artist run gallery space in downtown Reykjavik. Each year, we hold an open call and pull from the results to host group, solo, or individual shows.
We accept proposals from individuals, pairs, or groups. We are looking for artists to engage with one or more of the spaces we have access to; our main gallery, the community center nearby, the outside area with the greenhouses.
We are located in downtown Reykjavik, in Lindargata 66 on the ground floor. You walk into the main entrance on 66, take the first right, and our space is at the end of the hall. We have a bathroom, and a single small space with overhead lighting. Our space is wheelchair accessible. We have several pedestals of varying sizes, a single screen, and some installation equipment.
Our goal is a truly objective open call. All work will be judged blind by a panel of Icelandic and international artists. Applicants will be chosen solely on their application and not on their status in the art scene. Applications from POC and LGBTQIA individuals encouraged.
We look for work in any medium, on any subject, as long as it feels distinct from that already prominent within the Icelandic artistic community.
