goldstücke 2025 – light art festival in gelsenkirchen

As part of the festival "Goldstücke. Light – Art – Projects Gelsenkirchen," the City of Gelsenkirchen is once again inviting international artists and collectives to submit proposals a light artwork for the 2025 edition.

From 2 to 5 October 2025, the Buer district city centre in Gelsenkirchen will once again be transformed into an atmospheric stage for artistic light interventions. We invite individual artists and interdisciplinary teams to submit new concepts or existing light artworks that can be well adapted to the urban environment.

This year’s edition follows the theme “Active Positive,” inspired by architect Oskar Hansen’s concept of “Open Form.” We wish to promote a shared, optimistic engagement with our built environment, encouraging participation and dialogue through light art.
