For our 2026 season, a three-person jury of arts professionals will select for the 2026 Exhibition Open Call: Six (6) curator and/or artist-led, month-long exhibitions with a minimum of two (min. 2) artists to be hosted in our approximately 1000-square-foot gallery.
Held annually since the 1986-87 season and restarted in 2023, the Exhibition Open Call helped to define PS122 Gallery’s long history. The organization gave first exhibitions to artists such as Peter Halley, Keith Haring, and Amy Sillman, among many others; and exhibited hundreds more artists throughout the years like John Ahearn, Michael Ashkin, Lutz Bacher, Louise Bourgeois, Co-Lab, Petah Coyne, Karen Finley, Nan Goldin, Joanne Greenbaum, Arturo Herrera, Alfredo Jaar, Deborah Kass, Byron Kim, Larry Krone, Barbara Kruger, Glenn Ligon, Vik Muniz, Thomas Nozkowski, Mira Schor, Dread Scott, Arlene Shechet, Kiki Smith, Nancy Spero, Denyse Thomasos, and David Wojnarowicz; and writers and curators such as Allen Frame, Ellen Handy, Lucy Lippard, Saul Ostrow, Calvin Reid, and Raphael Rubinstein.
