Verzasca Foto is a non-profit organisation based in the Verzasca valley, Switzerland. The valley, with its small villages of stone houses and with its dense, lush nature, sets the backdrop to the curation of our annual photographic exhibition and festival: an intimate meeting place where participants have the opportunity to share ideas, points of view, and their camera-based practices. This year Verzasca Foto will launch the 12th edition of the Verzasca Foto Festival, a warm and inviting festival which has quickly become a beloved event by photography experts, photographers, and amateurs internationally

Verzasca Foto aims to promote emerging international photographers and to support visual arts in rural and peripheral areas by giving them the freedom to express themselves through the connection to and dialogue with nature. We are asking for projects of 3 to 10 photographic images in response to an open theme. An international jury of photography experts will judge the contest and will nominate one winner, second and third place, and seven finalists.

Our goal is to promote outstanding projects and to showcase them in the exhibition lineup of the festival in a solo exhibition. In the past ten editions, the Verzasca Foto Festival Awards have seen numerous high-quality projects from international photographers and selected by leading experts in photography being showcased to our varied audiences.
