walters island tsunami wave sculpture

The Strathcona Regional District is accepting submissions from artists to supply and install a sculpture that signifies the wave of a tsunami. The purpose of this sculpture is to better draw in people towards the Tsunami Evacuation Map near the government wharf (post office).

Wave sculpture criteria:

• No higher than 8-feet tall.
• No glass.
• No sharp edges.
• Constructed of low maintenance materials.
• Includes installation cost.
• Possess high wind resistance (strong foundation).

The deadline to supply and install the sculpture is January 31, 2026.
