residency in finland: the charm of community arts

Welcome to RaumArs Artist in Residence Programme!

Art House RaumArs has one of the oldest residences in Finland, which was established in 1997, and a gallery that opened in 2025. In the international residency, professionals from different artistic fields can work either on community art or independent projects. Curators, researchers and families are also welcomed. Selection is based on a high-quality work plan, which must be implemented during the visit in Rauma or elsewhere in Satakunta.

As a rule, applications for a residency are made in the spring for the year following the application. Each year, 7–15 guest artists or working couples are selected for the residency. An artist can apply for either a residency or a residency and exhibition time.

RaumArs promotes the cultural offering of the region by producing interesting and high quality art projects open to all. Our activities are based on extensive cooperation with art and cultural institutions, other associations, artists and individuals. RaumArs is always ready to help its artists to network and create the best possible framework for their art.
