This painting was inspired by the island of Capri, Gradola is a popular swimming area off the rocks with the locals, The coastline has a very dramatic drop into a deep midnight blue ocean. What captured my imagination there, was the young kids leaping off fearlessly into the water, that sense of freedom and pure joy really resonated with me.

This painting was an exploration in bold colour contrasts, organic forms and an investigation into micro details 

Dancing In Colour

This Painting was inspired by my love of the richness of vintage chinoiserie design and the scale of large tropical botanical forms. Many layers of paint were built up and rubbed back to reveal a distressed surface in the plant shapes. I chose to work with blues and greens for a contemporary fresh look.
