Veiled Presence investigates the paradox of visibility and concealment within the construction of identity.

The red veil functions not as an instrument of obscurity, but as a chromatic intensifier — amplifying the subject’s psychological presence. The gaze resists submission; it establishes agency.

Layered brushwork and tonal contrasts create a surface where emotion is not narrated but embedded in material. The background carries faint traces of fragmented text and erasure, suggesting instability within imposed narratives.

Rather than depicting a cultural symbol, the work proposes presence as an active state — negotiated, self-aware, and unresolved.

Residual Touch explores the persistence of contact beyond physical presence. The painted surface functions as a field of residue, where pigment behaves as trace rather than representation.
