Thanks to my previous experience as a fashion designer and costume designer in the film industry, I pay special attention to costume and ornamentation when traveling. In every new country my stay turns into an ethnographic expedition.

By using such an unstable material as coal to depict the human body, I want to emphasize the vulnerability and fragility of man in comparison with the great power of nature.

Winston Churchill once said, “We build our buildings, and then our buildings build us.” Beyond the cityscape, amid traffic and people, seeing a clear horizon is challenging. People lose connection with the world, consumed by their needs. The pursuit of desires proves elusive— one wish replaces another, like chasing a rainbow: the closer you get, the farther it appears. In this race, relationships and emotions fade. Restoring invisible connections with people helps find solid ground and discover one’s horizon. The same earth and sky are beneath your feet, both near and far. There’s a horizon, just from a different view.
