The basis of my painting artwork depicts city landscapes, though they may not be realistically portrayed, and clash against realism and romanticism, the composition is imbued with an ethereal and melancholic beauty.

I use the lines of Chinese painting and the rhythm of ink to convey the spirit of nature.
My paintings typically depict city landscapes drawing on the aesthetic traditions of minimalism and realism. Grounded in reality, the paintings nonetheless abstract the ordinary: the everyday world is made transcendent and gloomy — and is imbued with an ethereal and melancholy beauty. The sharp juxtaposition of modernism and romanticism are evocative of the moment — and environment — in which we find ourselves presently. 
Ferries and the Clock Tower are the collective memories of Hong Kong people.  They represented the essence of Hong Kong culture.  My work is concerned with landscape and its elements as a metaphor for memory, history, passage of time, and reflection for the inner life.  
Night represents mystery, enchantment, intuition, and intimacy.   My work does not seem to be a traditional Chinese painting which I do insist in the brush work.  I applied the western painting method in a subtle way, and let the poetic nature suggested a sense of oriental artistic essence.



Hong Kong Reminisence

The picture depicts a scenic view of the Hong Kong Victoria Harbour near the ‘Star Ferry Pier’.  Looking beyond the Pier, boats and ferries converge a little way off the shore.  They resonate with each other in a background colour of orange pink gives a sense of vigorousness and vibrance in cityscape.  The picture is filled with ferries,  boats, water and trees.  Lines of mast and branches are drawn to enhance the subtleness of ink stroke.  Trees in the fore ground dilute the hardness of the architecture in nature.  
My work is concerned with landscape and its elements as a metaphor for memory, history, passage of time, and reflection for the inner life.  
Hong Kong is superbly picturesque in the dawn.  I opt for tranquillity amid a bustling and vibrant metropolitan.  Ferries, carried with Hong Kong style and natural interests, strive to present a subtle tenacity of life and the pursuit of beauty.  A tribute to the poetic nature of the small island.
